About the Creator
Hi, I’m Lisangelee Velazquez — the creator of GiftedBecoming™ and founder of the Behavioral Neurodivergent Learning framework.
I’m a gifted adult, a mother, a Latina, an advocate, and a lifelong learner who knows what it’s like to study hard, care deeply, and still feel “too much” for the systems around me.
Like many from underrepresented communities, I wasn’t labeled as gifted growing up — not because I lacked potential, but because the system didn’t know how to recognize minds like mine. I only began to understand my cognitive profile as an adult, through my son’s brilliance, my own challenges, and years of unlearning.
Six years ago, I survived a brain aneurysm and underwent surgery — an experience that reshaped my understanding of resilience, growth, and purpose. It taught me that setbacks don’t define us — they refine us.
After struggling with high-stakes exams despite my knowledge and preparation, I realized the issue wasn’t my intelligence or my effort — it was that traditional systems weren’t built for minds like mine. So I began creating tools that worked with my brain instead of against it.
GiftedBecoming™ grew from that journey — a space that reframes overthinking, emotional intensity, and deep processing as strengths, not weaknesses.
If you’ve ever felt too much, too scattered, or too different to succeed, you belong here. I don’t offer cookie-cutter answers — I share emotional clarity, strategic frameworks, and success tools designed for gifted thinkers, deep feelers, and neurodivergent learners.
You are not broken. You are brilliant in ways the system doesn’t always understand. Together, we’re rewriting the way forward.
